Anemia is a health problem that often occurs in women of childbearing age and pregnant women, with a significant impact on individual health and the quality of human resources. This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to increase the knowledge and awareness of the Lily Posyandu community about anemia through health education accompanied by hemoglobin testing. The activity was carried out on November 18, 2025, with a pre-test and post-test design to assess the effectiveness of the education. A total of 27 participants attended the counseling, which included material delivery, interactive discussions, questionnaire completion, and hemoglobin testing using POCT Hb. The results showed an increase in average knowledge from 76.43% to 95.13%, with a decrease in standard deviation from 30.01 to 6.30, indicating an increase in understanding as well as homogeneity of participants' knowledge. The Wilcoxon test yielded p = 0.043 (p < 0.05), confirming a significant difference before and after the counseling. The greatest improvement occurred in understanding of iron-rich foods, from 11.7% to 94.1%. The leaflet medium proved to support the success of education thanks to its ease of access, simple appearance, and ability to strengthen information retention, despite its limitations compared to audiovisual media. Hemoglobin testing also provided an initial picture of the participants' anemia status. Overall, this PKM activity was effective in improving community health literacy.
Kiren ManubuluNathalea LayadiYona Jane NandaFreddy Agamonza

https://jurnal.poltekkespalembang.ac.id/index.php/jpengmas/article/view/3755

Online gaming addiction among adolescents is a growing public health concern, particularly due to its negative impact on sleep quality. Poor sleep is associated with reduced concentration, lower academic achievement, and long-term health risks. This community engagement program aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of digital health education in improving adolescents’ knowledge of the consequences of excessive online gaming on sleep quality. Conducted at SMP Advent Abepura, the intervention included health education sessions, time management workshops, awareness campaigns, and active involvement of teachers and parents. Pre- and post-test evaluation of 43 students revealed a significant improvement: the proportion of students with good knowledge increased from 20.9% before the intervention to 100% after. These findings highlight that school-based digital health education is an effective preventive strategy to reduce the risk of sleep disturbances caused by online gaming addiction. Similar programs are recommended to be expanded to other schools, with long-term monitoring of adolescents’ sleep behavior.

Zusana Anggreana SasarariChristy WattimenaYunita Kristina

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas where access to routine health screening remains limited. Promotive and preventive efforts through free health check-up programs are essential to enhance early detection and improve community health literacy. Objective: To implement a free health screening program as a promotive and preventive strategy for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in order to improve community health status. Methods: This community engagement activity was conducted in December 2025 in Ogomoligi Village using a community-based participatory approach. The program was implemented in three stages: planning, preparation, and execution. The target population consisted of village residents, while students served as educational facilitators and screening assistants under faculty supervision. Interventions included blood pressure measurement, random blood glucose testing, body mass index assessment, cholesterol testing, and uric acid examination, followed by health education sessions on NCD prevention. Evaluation was conducted using a pre- and post-education approach to assess changes in knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Results: The findings demonstrated significant improvement across all assessed aspects. Prior to the intervention, only 20% of respondents had good knowledge and 27% demonstrated positive attitudes. After the program, 100% of respondents showed improvement to the good category in both aspects. Conclusion: The program was successfully implemented with active community participation. Health screening activities effectively identified NCD risk factors and increased community awareness regarding the importance of early detection and healthy lifestyle practices. Direct and contextual education fostered positive attitudinal changes and strengthened community commitment to maintaining health independently.
Rahmat KurniawanAzizah SalehT. https://jurnal.poltekkespalembang.ac.id/index.php/jpengmas/article/view/3849

Adolescence is a crucial period that requires special attention regarding nutritional intake, given that adolescents often make inappropriate food choices. Ultra-Processed Food (UPF) is a popular choice among adolescents, despite its generally low nutritional value. Regular consumption of UPF can disrupt appetite regulation, lead to excessive Jakarta intake, and contribute to weight gain and the risk of obesity. Several studies also suggest that UPF consumption patterns can trigger insulin resistance, systemic inflammation, and changes in the gut microbiota. To address this issue, the “Adolescent Nutrition Education: Ultra-Processed Food” intervention was conducted at the Marunda Flats (Rusunawa), North Jakarta. This intervention used an interactive lecture method supported by multimedia presentation media. The activity began with a pre-test, material delivery, a question-and-answer session, and concluded with a post-test. Evaluation results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge after participating in the intervention, as indicated by an increase in the average post-test score from 77 to 87. This indicates that education using the interactive lecture method combined with PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) media and 3D AR posters is effective in increasing adolescents’ understanding of the dangers of consuming Ultra Processed Food. Furthermore, this activity has successfully raised awareness among teenagers about making wiser food choices and reducing their consumption of packaged foods, which pose health risks, such as obesity and metabolic diseases. It is hoped that these youth cadres can become agents of change in their communities by disseminating the knowledge they have gained to their peers and the surrounding community.
Fathurrohmah Isnadia SiwiNicky FebrilianLaras SitoayuJuwita Putri DianZebua ZebuaKania Putri KhaerunnisaWina Putri Nadiyah

https://jurnal.poltekkespalembang.ac.id/index.php/jpengmas/article/view/3872

Stunting is still one of the main public health problems in Indonesia because it has an impact on the quality of human resources in the future. The results of anthropometric measurements and consumption surveys on under five years at The Public Health Center of Seri Tanjung were obtained with a stunting prevalence of 31.1%, and underweight of 19.7%. Nutritional intake of toddlers is energy deficient (47.6%), and toddlers suffer from infectious diseases as much as 42.5%. From this data, preventive efforts need to be made to prevent an increase in the prevalence of stunting in the form of nutrition education in adolescents, pregnant women, lactating mothers and mothers under five. After nutrition education was given, there was an increase in the average value of knowledge compared to before the education was given. Thus, providing nutrition education is a treatment that helps to increase knowledge about nutritious food for both mothers and children.
Podojoyo PodojoyoYulianto YuliantoSartono SartonoAhmad SadiqMardiana Mardiana

Adolescents at SMK Al Muhajirin 2 Bekasi are vulnerable to hypertension risks due to academic stress and poor diet , while the school community's understanding of early detection and management regulations remains limited. This education is crucial since schools serve as a strategic environment for early promotive-preventive efforts. The implementation method involved offline counseling across three specialized scientific sessions, evaluated via pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The results showed an optimal increase in competence, with all 10th-grade students from both Pharmacy and Nursing majors achieving an absolute 100.00% correct answer rate post-education. This success proves that adaptive, health-science-based educational methods are highly effective in dismantling students' medical misconceptions, making it highly recommended for sustainability in developing adolescent health advocates.
Bayu Dwi HandonoUmul Angga BrahmonoDoni IswandaniNiko PrasetyaHoney IskandarDefi Yana AdeliaAmida Suri PutriAmanda Suri Putri
