Formulasi Tablet Dari Ekstrak Etanol Kulit Kacang Tanah (Arachis Hypogeae L.)
Abstract

ABSTRACT
Background: Peanut shells (Arachis hypogeae L.) are only considered as waste in society. But actually peanut shells can be used, because at a dose of 300mg/kgBB it has a cholesterol-lowering effect on Sprague Dawley rats. This study aims to formulate a thick extract of peanut shell as a tablet preparation that is physically stable.
Methods: This study used an experimental method. Peanut shell extract was obtained by maceration with 70% ethanol solvent, then vacuum distilled to obtain a thick extract. Formulated in three formulas with varying concentrations of gelatin binder, including 1%, 3%, and 5% by wet granulation. Then do the evaluation of the preparation.
Results: The evaluation results showed that the weight uniformity test, size uniformity, hardness, friability, and disintegration time showed that the three formulas produced tablets that met the requirements. Except the disintegration time in formula II and formula III.
Conclusion: Peanut shell extract tablets with 1% gelatin binder in formula I can be formulated as stable tablet preparations and meet the requirements of tablet physical quality test.
