Preventive Resin Restoration sebagai Pencegahaan Gigi Berlubang pada Gigi Molar Pertama Permanen

Abstract

Karies gigi adalah salah satu penyakit kronis paling umum di seluruh dunia. Menurut laporan World Health Organization, sekitar 60-90% anak sekolah di seluruh dunia dan hampir semua orang dewasa mengalami karies gigi. Karies pit dan fisura menyumbang lebih dari 80% dari seluruh karies pada anak-anak dan remaja. Gigi permanen yang paling rentan terhadap karies adalah gigi molar pertama permanen karena merupakan gigi permanen yang pertama sekali erupsi. Restorasi resin preventif merupakan prosedur alternatif untuk merestorasi gigi permanen muda yang mengalami karies pada bagian pit dan fisur, serta hanya memerlukan sedikit preparasi gigi, memungkinkan untuk menghentikan perkembangan lesi karies pada tahap awal dan dapat mencegah kerusakan lebih lanjut.
