SPACE MAINTAINER PADA KASUS PREMATURE LOSS GIGI SULUNG - LAPORAN KASUS
Abstract
Latar Belakang: Premature loss pada anak–anak dapat memberikan dampak, antara lain dapat menyebabkan gigi tetangganya bergeser, kemiringan sumbu gigi yang tidak normal, jarak antara gigi, dan pergeseran garis tengah gigi, serta dapat menyebabkan maloklusi sehingga dibutuhkan perawatan seperti space maintainer. Tujuan: Laporan kasus ini bertujuan membahas tentang perawatan pada kasus premature loss. Laporan Kasus: Laki-laki berusia 8 tahun datang bersama ibunya ke RS Khusus Gigi dan Mulut Provinsi Sumatera Selatan dengan mengeluhkan giginya hilang dan merasa tidak nyaman saat makan sejak kurang lebih 6 bulan yang lalu. Hasil dari pemeriksaan klinis ditemukan premature loss 52, 55, 65, 74, 75, 84, 85. Pasien dilakukan perawatan removeable space maintainer fungsional pada gigi 52, 55, 65, 74, 75, 84, 85. Kesimpulan: Pemakaian space maintainer efektif untuk mencegah berkurangnya ruang pasca premature loss gigi sulung sehingga diharapkan gigi penggantinya dapat erupsi dengan baik.
