Removable Functional Space Maintainer pada Premature Loss Gigi Molar Sulung Rahang Bawah Anak Usia 11 Tahun – Laporan Kasus
Abstract
Latar Belakang : Gigi sulung memiliki peran penting, salah satunya untuk menjaga ruang sebagai tempat erupsinya gigi permanen. Premature loss pada gigi sulung merupakan keadaan dimana gigi sulung hilang atau tanggal sebelum gigi penggantinya mendekati erupsi, sehingga dapat menyebabkan kelainan oklusi akibat penyempitan lengkung gigi. Pemeliharaan ruang diperlukan untuk mempertahankan ruang akibat premature loss, dengan menggunakan alat space maintainer. Tujuan : Laporan kasus ini bertujuan untuk membahas penatalaksanaan kasus premature loss pada gigi molar sulung mandibula dengan menggunakan space maintainer. Laporan Kasus : Seorang anak perempuan (11 tahun) datang bersama ibunya ke RSKGM Provinsi Sumatera Selatan mengeluhkan gigi bawah sebelah kirinya hilang sejak ± 6 bulan lalu dan belum tumbuh kembali, sehingga pasien merasa tidak nyaman saat makan. Hasil pemeriksaan terdapat premature loss pada gigi 74 dan 75. Rencana perawatan yang akan diberikan berupa pemakaian removable functional space maintainer pada rahang bawah sebelah kiri. Kesimpulan : Pada kasus ini, terlihat gigi pengganti mulai erupsi dan tidak ada penyempitan ruang setelah terjadinya premature loss.
