Abstract

Umbi bawang Dayak (Eleutherine palmifolia (L.) Merr) mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tannin dan triterpenoid yang memiliki mekanisme untukmenghambat aktivitas astibaaeri. Secora empiris umbi bawang Dayak digunakan imtuk mengobati disentri: Sa/ah satu bakteri penyebab disentri adalab. bakteri Shigella boydu. Namun belum ada,rya dasar secara ilmiah mengenai penelitian' yang bertujuan untukmenentukan fraksi aktif antibakter« dari ekstrakumbi bawang Dayak (Eleutherine palmifolia (L.)Merr) dengan menguji aktivitas,ryasebagai antibakteri terhadap balaeri ShigeJJa boydii. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimenta! dengan mengukur diameter zona hamba; akiivuas antibakteri dan nilai KHM (Kadar Hambat Minimum) fraksi teraktif dari ekstrak umbi bawang Dayak (Eleutherine palmifolta (L.) Men-) terhadap bakteri Shigelfa boydii. Penyarian umbi bawang Dayak dilakukan del1ga11 111etode maserasi meggwsakan pelaru: etanol 96% dilanfatkan fraksinasi dengan pelarut n-heksan, etil asetat dan air. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, Pada fraksi n-heksan, fraksi etil asetat dan fraksi air dengan konsentrasi 50% blv, 25% blv, 12,5% blv, 6,25% blv, 3,12% Mi 1,56% blv, 0,78'Yoblv tidak: dapat mengluzmbat akttvitas bakteri Shigella baydii dikarenakan oleh beberapa faktor yang menyebabkun ketidakstabilan dari hasil daya hambat antibakteri. Hasil identifiJ=i menunjukkanfraks; n-beksan positif.mengandung senyawa alkaloid dan triterpenoid.fraksi etil asetat senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin dan triterpenoid sedangkan fraksi air mengandung senyawa saponin. dan tannin. Ekstrak umbi bawang Dayak (Eleutherine palmifolia (L.) Men-) tidak. dapat menghasilkan sesuai' yang diharapkan dalam menghambat pertumbuhan dari bakteri Shigella boydit sehingga, untukmenentukan fraksi tera/cJifdariketigajenisfraksidannilaiKHMtidakbisadilanjutkan.
