FORMULASI SEDIAAN PASTA GIGI DENGAN BAHAN ABRASIF SERBUK CANGKANG TELUR AYAM NEGERI (Gallus domesticus) DAN UJI KESTABILAN FISIKNYA

Abstract

Serbuk cangkang telur ayam negeri (Gallus domesticus) mengandung 94% kalsium karbonat yang dapat digunakan sebagai abrasive da;am pasta gigi dengan penambahan kalium nitrat 5% sebagai zat aktif anti hipersensitif. Serbuk cangkang telur ayam negeri dapat dijadikan bahan dasar dengan campuran berbagai macam herba dalam pembuatan pasta gigi yang ekonomis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan membuat dengan membuat formula pasta gigi dengan bahan abrasive serbuk cangkang telur ayam negeri (Gallus domesticus) yang diperoleh dari cangkang telur ayam negeri yang dihaluskan dan diayak menggunakan mesh 200. Pasta gigi dibuat dengan konsentrasi zat aktif kalium nitrat sebesar 5% dan memvariasikan abrasive yaitu serbuk cangkang telur ayam negeri sebesar 15%, 22,5% dan 30%. Kemudian dilakukan uji kestabilan fisik pasta gigi selama 28 hari penyimpanan yang terdiri dari homogenitas, viskositas, pH, tinggi busa, warna, baud an rasa. Hasil yang didapat bahwa setiap formula mengalami kenaikan kecuali tinggi busa yang mengalami penurunan. Uji homogenitas ketiga formula tetap stabil selama penyimpanan, untuk uji viskositas formula I berkisar antara 52.338-73.089 cps, formula II berkisar antara 79949-98099 cps dan formula III72335-130262cps, untuk uji pH berkisar antara6,62-7,61. Tinggi busa yang didapatkan untuk formula I berkisar 50-40 mm, formula II berkisar antara 55-40 dan formula III berkisar antara 60-40 mm, untuk uji warna dan bau hanya formula III yang mengalami perubahan, sedangkan untuk uji rasa tidak mengalami perubahan. Dapat disimpulkan  bahwa srbuk cangkang telur ayam negeri dengan konsentrasi 22,5% dapat dibuat menjadi sediaan pasta gigi dengan konsentrasi zat aktif kalium nitrat 5%.
