Hubungan Efikasi Diri dengan Burnout pada Perawat di Ruang Rawat Inap Rumah Sakit Swasta Palembang

Abstract

Background: Nurses play an important role in hospital services, especially in inpatient wards that require continuous nursing care. High workloads and emotional demands can increase the risk of burnout in nurses, while self-efficacy acts as a psychological factor that helps nurses manage work stress and reduce the risk of burnout. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and burnout among nurses in the inpatient ward of a private hospital in Palembang.

Methods: This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational descriptive design and a cross-sectional approach. The studywas conducted in the inpatient ward of a private hospital in Palembang on January 19-21, 2026. The sampling technique used total sampling with a total of 47 respondents. The instruments used were the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) to measure self-efficacy and the Maslach Burnout Inventory – Human Service Survey (MBI-HSS) to measure burnout levels. This study obtained ethical approval No: 000049/KEP/UMAD Palembang/2026 and used the Chi-square test for statistical analysis.

Results: The results showed that of the 47 respondents, 25 respondents (53.2%) were nurses with high self-efficacy. The burnout levelof nurses was in the high and moderate categories, with 18 respondents (38.3%) in each category. There was a significant relationship between self-efficacy and burnout among nurses in the inpatient ward of a private hospital in Palembang.
