Abstract

Background: Based on data obtained at the Palembang Muhammadiyah Hospital, it was noted that 173 mothers gave birth by caesarean section in 2014. The problem that arises after SC surgery is pain in the post-operative wound due to the incision wound. The aim of this study was to describe the nursing implementation of finger grip relaxation therapy (observation, therapeutic and educational) and analyze the results in post sc patients with acute pain. Methods: This research design uses descriptive methods in the form of a case study. The case study subjects were 2 people 4-6 hours post SC with acute pain problems at Muhammadiyah Palembang Hospital, in April 2024. This research data was taken through interviews, observation, examination, implementation and assessment scales. The analysis was carried out descriptively and presented with tables and narratives. Results: There was a decrease in the level of pain from a moderate pain scale to a mild pain scale in both patients after implementing finger grip relaxation therapy. Conclusion: The implementation of finger grip relaxation therapy is effective in reducing pain levels in post caesarean section patients and is applied.
